Viewing block storage service nodes

Each LUN is assigned an active service node. Service nodes can have multiple ports that can be Fibre Channel (FC) or iSCSI.

To view the service nodes for a block storage system, such as VNX-Block and CX4:

1. In the left pane of the ESI window, select the storage system.

2. For storage systems that support both block and file protocols, select Block View from the Switch View list box in the center pane.

3. In the center pane, click Service Nodes.

4. Click the plus (+) symbol to expand the storage processor SP A or SP B list.

5. Click Fibre Channel Target Ports to view the Fibre Channel target ports for each SP.

6. Click iSCSI Target Ports to view iSCSI target ports for each SP.

Note: To customize the center pane, such as to remove or add columns for a custom view, right-click the column and select actions from the menu.
