The following checklist provides the configuration requirements to install Configuration Manager 2007 client computers when they are assigned to a site that supports Internet-based client management.

Supported Scenarios for Internet-Based Client Management

If you have Internet client computers that will never connect to your intranet, install Configuration Manager clients using CCMSetup with command-line options for the following configuration:

  • Native mode.

  • Internet-only client management.

  • Assign them to the Internet site.

  • Specify the FQDN of the Internet management point.

  • If you are using a fallback status point, specify the Internet-based fallback status point.

If they need to connect to the Internet using a proxy server, the proxy server settings must be specified after installation.
