When configuring a Configuration Manager 2007 client computer for Internet or intranet management, it must not be configured for Internet-only management and it must be configured with the Internet fully qualified domain name (FQDN) of its Internet-based management point.

To configure client computers for Internet or intranet management

  1. Install the client computer without the CCMSetup.exe client.msi property CCMALWAYSINF=1 for Internet-only management.

  2. Assign the client computer to its Internet-based management point, using one of the following methods:

    • Specify the Internet-based management point on the Internet tab of Configuration Manager from the Control Panel of the client computer.

    • Use the CCMSetup.exe client.msi property CCMHOSTNAME = [FQDN of the Internet-based management point].

For more information about these methods, see How to Assign Configuration Manager Client Computers to the Internet-Based Management Point.
