When configuring a Configuration Manager 2007 client computer for Internet or intranet management, it must not be configured for Internet-only management and it must be configured with the Internet fully qualified domain name (FQDN) of its Internet-based management point.
To configure client computers for Internet or intranet management

Install the client computer without the CCMSetup.exe client.msi property CCMALWAYSINF=1 for Internet-only management.

Assign the client computer to its Internet-based management point, using one of the following methods:
- Specify the Internet-based management point
on the Internet tab of Configuration Manager from the
Control Panel of the client computer.
- Use the CCMSetup.exe client.msi property
CCMHOSTNAME = [FQDN of the Internet-based management
point].

- Specify the Internet-based management point
on the Internet tab of Configuration Manager from the
Control Panel of the client computer.
