Use this tab to specify the subnets that Network Discovery can
search. "Enabled" in the Search field means the subnet will
be searched the next time Network Discovery runs.
Subnets to search
The subnets that you want to search during Network
Discovery.
Subnet
A subnet number in IP format (for example, 131.24.10.0). This
number can contain wildcards.
When Network Discovery discovers resources in a subnet, that
subnet is designated with a padlock icon. These subnets cannot be
deleted, but they can be disabled so that they are not
searched.
Mask
The subnet mask for the subnet number (for example,
255.255.255.0).
Name
The subnet's name, if applicable (not all subnets have names,
and a name is not needed for Network Discovery to work).
Search
"Enabled" means the subnet will be searched the next time
Network Discovery runs; "Disabled" means it will not be
searched.
Note Specifying a subnet does not
guarantee that it will be searched. For more information, see
Which Subnets Are Searched?.
Click to open the Subnet
Assignment dialog box to change the properties of the
selected subnet. If no subnet is selected, this button is
disabled.
Click to delete the selected subnet, unless it was found by
Network Discovery. If it was found, the subnet will re-appear when
this dialog box is re-opened. If no subnet is selected, this button
is disabled.
Click to toggle the searching of the selected subnets; those
that are enabled are disabled and vice versa. If no subnet is
selected, this button is disabled.
Search local subnets
Searches subnets containing the server running Network
Discovery. By default, this option is enabled.
