Example Scenario for Installing and Configuring the Asset Intelligence Synchronization Point

In this example, Stuart Railson, the Configuration Manager 2007 SP1 administrator for Tailspin Toys, will install and configure the Asset Intelligence synchronization point to enable dynamic Asset Intelligence catalog updates. To do this, Stuart will review the security requirements with Carol Philips, Tailspin Toys' security manager, Patrick Hines, Tailspin Toys' firewall administrator, and Lisa Miller, who is registered with the Microsoft Volume License Service and manages Microsoft Software Assurance licensed software in use for Tailspin Toys. Stuart will then configure the necessary security settings to allow Larry Zhang, the asset manager for Tailspin Toys, to view Asset Intelligence catalog data.

Process Reference

Before beginning the installation process, Stuart carefully reviews the Asset Intelligence configuration checklist and verifies that the site system selected to install the Asset Intelligence synchronization point meets supported configuration requirements for Configuration Manager 2007 SP1 site systems.
