Use the Create Operating System Configuration Item Wizard in Configuration Manager 2007 to create an operating system configuration item. After the operating system configuration item is created, it is displayed in the Configuration Items node of the Configuration Manager console and available for use when creating or modifying configuration baselines.

- Identification Page
- Specifies the name and description of the configuration item and also allows you to assign the configuration item to configuration categories. After the configuration item is created, these options are displayed in the Configuration Item Properties: General Tab.
- Windows Version Page
- Specifies the options in the Configuration Item Properties: Windows Version Tab.
- Objects Page
- Specifies the options in the Configuration Item Properties: Objects Tab.
- Settings Page
- Specifies the options in the Configuration Item Properties: Settings Tab.
- Summary Page
- Displays the Wizard - Summary Page.
- Progress Page
- Displays the Wizard - Progress Page.
- Completing the Wizard Page
- Displays the Wizard - Completing the Wizard Page.
