Start the Monitor Control Tool
You can run the Monitor Control Tool from the Start menu or from within the SMS Administrator console.
Note If you installed Network Monitor by running the Network Monitor Setup program rather than running SMS Setup, you will not be able to start Network Monitor or the Monitor Control Tool from within the SMS Administrator console. Instead, you must access these two tools from the Start menu.
To run the Network Monitor Control tool from Start menu:
Click the Start button, point to Administrative Tools (Common), Network Analysis Tools, and then click Monitor Control Tool.
To run the Network Monitor Control Tool from within the SMS Administrator console:
Important Using Network Monitor to capture data from an SMS site server is not recommended. The process of sending a network adapter card into promiscuous mode is very processor intensive and will impact the performance of SMS services.
