In Resource Explorer, you use Software to view the
software inventory and files collected from a client.
Software contains the following folders:
CollectedFiles
Information about the files collected from clients. (For more
information, see About File Collection.)
To display the following information in the details pane, click
CollectedFiles:
File Name
The name of the file collected.
File Path
The path of the file stored on the site server.
File Size
The size of the collected file, in bytes.
Modified Date
The date and time when the collected file was last
modified.
Collection Date
The date when the file was collected from the client.
LastSoftwareScan
Information about the last software inventory cycle.
Last Scan Date
The date of the last software inventory collection on the
client.
Manufacturer
Information about software inventoried on the client, grouped
by software company name.
Note Slightly different versions of the
same company name can appear because of inconsistencies in the way
companies spell their names in different products or versions.
To display the following information in the details pane,
double-click a Company Name:
Product Name
The inventoried product name. For example, Microsoft Office
97.
Product Version
The version of the product inventoried. For example, 7.0.
Product Language
The language of the product inventoried. For example, English
(United States).
UnknownFiles
Information about inventoried files (such as .cmd files or .exe
files for company-specific applications) that do not contain a
company name in the file header. Information about these files can
include the product name, product version, and product language.
To display the following information in the details pane, click
UnknownFiles:
File Name
The name of the file inventoried. For example,
fastopen.exe.
File Description
A description of the file, if one exists in the file
header.
File Version
The version number of the file, if one exists in the file
header.
File Size
The size of the file, in bytes.
File Count
The number of instances of the file on the client. For example,
if more than one copy of Install.cmd exists on a computer, this
column displays the number of copies found.
Creation Date
The date and time when the file was created. For example,
8:00:00 AM 7/31/98.
