Use this task sequence step to specify the Configuration Manager 2007 package that contains the appropriate version of Sysprep to use with this operating system when capturing an image. This task sequence step will copy the deployment tools, i.e., Sysprep, onto the reference computer. Click Browse to select from a list of available Configuration Manager 2007 packages.

If the operating system version you are capturing is Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008, Sysprep is already available on the computer and you should not include this task sequence step as part of the capture task sequence. For Windows Server 2003 or earlier operating system versions, you must specify a package that contains the version of Sysprep and its support files that are appropriate for that operating system version. This package does not require a program. Operating system deployment uses the Sysprep files that are contained in the package. This package will be copied into a folder named Sysprep on the root directory of the reference computer.

This task sequence step runs only in a standard operating system and will not run in Windows Preinstallation Environment (WinPE).

For more information about Sysprep packages, see About Creating the Operating System Deployment Packages.
