Use the Set Task Sequence Variable task sequence step to set the value of a task sequence variable to be used with the task sequence. This task sequence action can be run in either a standard operating system or the Windows Preinstallation Environment (WinPE). Task sequence variables are read by task sequence actions and specify the behavior of those actions. You can configure the following settings:
- Name
- A short user-defined name for this task sequence step.
- Description
- More detailed information about the action taken in this step.
- Task sequence variable
- A user-defined name for the task sequence variable.
- Value
- The value that is associated with the task sequence variable. The value could be another task sequence variable in %<varname>% syntax.
