Use the Schedule tab of the Configuration Manager 2007 Network Discovery Properties dialog box to set the schedule that Configuration Manager uses to poll the specified Active Directory containers for system resources.

New schedules and schedule changes go into effect as soon as they are written to the site control file. The delay in writing to the site control file will be very brief (often only a minute or so) when the site database is on the computer running Network Discovery. The delay will be longer if you are setting Network Discovery for a child site from the parent site because the update to the child's site control file depends on the schedule for the child site's address.

Note
If the scheduled time has already passed by the time the data is written to the site control file, the Network Discovery run will not begin until the next scheduled time. For example, if you set Network Discovery to run every Monday at 5:00 P.M., but the schedule is not written to the site control file until Monday at 5:01 P.M., then Network Discovery will not run until the following Monday at 5:00 P.M. To begin a Network Discovery run as soon as possible, allow sufficient time for the schedule to be written to the site control file before the scheduled start time

Each schedule runs Network Discovery as currently configured. Although you can have multiple schedules, it is not possible to assign different configurations of Network Discovery to different schedules.

The Schedule tab contains the following elements:

Schedule

Specifies the schedules currently set to run Network Discovery as currently configured. The following options are available to manage your Network Discovery schedules:
