The Network Discovery Properties dialog box displays configuration information about this discovery method within Configuration Manager 2007. All configuration of this method is made through the individual tabs in this dialog box.

To display this information, click the Discovery Methods node within Site Settings, right-click Network Discovery, and then click Properties.

Specifies whether the Network Discovery method is enabled, which type of discovery to conduct, and whether or not to compensate for a slow network.
Network Discovery Properties: Subnets Tab

Specifies the subnets for Configuration Manager to search during discovery.
Network Discovery Properties: Domains Tab

Specifies the domains for Configuration Manager to search during discovery.
Network Discovery Properties: SNMP Tab

Specifies the SNMP communities for Configuration Manager to search during discovery, as well as the maximum number of router hops that Network Discovery will make.
Network Discovery Properties: SNMP Devices Tab

Specifies SNMP devices that Configuration Manager will use to discover resources during Network Discovery.
Network Discovery Properties: DHCP Tab

Specifies DHCP servers that Configuration Manager will use to discover DHCP clients during Network Discovery.
Network Discovery Properties: Schedule Tab

Specifies the schedule that Configuration Manager uses to poll the specified Active Directory containers for system resources.
