You use Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007 to control Configuration Manager 2007 services. In Configuration Manager 2007 Service Manager, you can view the status of any Configuration Manager 2007 services or threads (referred to collectively as Configuration Manager 2007 components) that are running on any site system. Components are managed the same way you manage services in Windows; you can start, stop, pause, resume, or query Configuration Manager 2007 components.
Services run as soon as there is something for them to do (typically, when a configuration file is written to a component's inbox).
