If you want to quickly view the properties of configuration baselines or configuration items to help you identify or verify them, but you do not need to edit the properties, use the properties pane from the Configuration Baselines node or the Configuration Items node in the Configuration Manager console. This is quicker than right-clicking the configuration baseline or configuration item and selecting Properties.

To use the properties pane, follow this procedure.

To use the properties pane to manage configuration baselines and configuration items

  1. In the Configuration Manager console, navigate to System Center Configuration Manager / Site Database / Computer Management / Desired Configuration Management.

  2. To manage configuration baselines, click the Configuration Baselines node. To manage configuration items, click the Configuration Items node.

  3. Click a configuration baseline or configuration item. The bottom of the Configuration Manager results pane will display all the tabbed properties you would see if you selected Properties, but they appear as read-only. You can quickly view the properties of one configuration baseline or configuration item after another without leaving the results pane.

    Note
For more information about the options on the Configuration Baselines home page and the Configurations Items home page, see Configuration Baselines Home Page and Configuration Items Home Page.
