When a report runs in Configuration Manager 2007, Report Viewer uses Active Server Pages (ASP) scripts that are stored on a reporting point computer. The Internet Information Services (IIS) default setting for the ASP script timeout is 90 seconds. This amount of time should be sufficient for running reports in most environments. However, in certain situations some reports might time out before finishing. Use the following procedure to configure the ASP script time-out setting.
To configure the ASP script timeout setting in IIS 6.0
-
On the reporting point computer, open Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
-
Navigate to Internet Information Services \ <server name> \ Web Sites \ Default Web Site.
-
Right-click SMSReporting_<site name>, and then click Properties.
-
Click the Virtual Directory tab, and then click Configuration in the Application settings section.
-
Click the Options tab, and then configure ASP script timeout.
-
Click OK to save the changes, and then click OK to exit the dialog box.
To configure the ASP script timeout setting in IIS 7.0
-
On the reporting point computer, open Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
-
Navigate to <server name> \ Sites \ Default Web Site.
-
Click SMSReporting_<site name>, and then double-click ASP in Features View.
-
Expand Limits Properties, configure the Script Time-out setting, press Enter, and then click Apply in the Actions pane.
