The Create Direct Membership Rule Wizard

The Create Direct Membership Rule wizard helps you locate resources that you want to add as direct members of a collection and then creates the appropriate membership rules for that collection. This wizard is available from any collection for which you have proper security access.

The wizard prompts you to provide the resource criteria:

• The resource class: system (default), user, or user group.
• The attribute to search for, such as Name, IPAddress, or NetworkOperatingSystem.
• The value of the attribute to search for. You can specify up to 100 characters, and you can use the percent (%) character as a wildcard character.

Note    If you do not have security rights to all collections, the wizard prompts you to provide an existing collection to search for the resource.

Based on this information, the wizard displays a list of resources it finds, and you can then select the resources you want to add to the current collection.
