Add a Site System

Note   You must have Modify permission for the Site security object class or instance to perform this procedure.

1. 

   Navigate to Site Systems.

2.  Systems Management Server
      Site Database
        Site Hierarchy
          site name
            Site Settings
              Site Systems

3. Right-click Site Systems and then click New type, where type is the type of site system that you want to add.

4. For example, to add a new Windows NT Server site system, click New Windows NT Server.

5. In the Site System Properties dialog box, complete the settings in the appropriate tabs:
6. • Specify the name of the site system in the General tab.
   • To use the site system as a distribution point, complete the Distribution Point tab.
   • To use the site system as a client access point, complete the Client Access Point tab.
   • To use the site system as a software metering server, complete the Software Metering Server tab.
   • To review the system roles assigned to the site system, click the System Roles tab.

Note    If you want to assign a CAP, distribution point, or logon point role to a Windows NT server in another domain, you must either create a trust relationship between the site server's domain and the remote domain, or you must create a client connection account in the remote domain and then specify the new SMS client network connection account in the SMS Administrator console.
