Software Inventory Client Agent
Properties Dialog Box: General Tab
Use this tab to enable or disable software
inventory at your site. If software inventory is enabled, you
can schedule when software inventory is to be collected from
clients.
Enable software inventory on clients
Enables software inventory for the site. When this check box is
selected, software inventory is running — or will run — according
to the schedule specified below. By default, this check box is
cleared.
Inventory and file collection schedule
Specify when software inventory runs on clients in the
site.
Simple schedule
Software inventory and file collection schedule frequency. By
default, this option is selected. Although it allows less
flexibility in scheduling, this method usually causes less network
traffic because the time each client's inventory file is sent is
based on that client's install time. When you choose Full
schedule, all your clients run inventory at exactly the same
time.
Run every
The number and type of time units (hours, days, or weeks) in
the simple schedule. You can specify 1 to 23 hours, 1 to 31 days,
or 1 to 4 weeks. By default, this interval is set to 1 week.
Full schedule
Software inventory and file collection schedule specified by
days and time — every Monday at 4:00 A.M. or every Thursday at 7:30
P.M., for example.
Schedule
Click to open the Schedule dialog box and set
the software inventory and file collection schedule. You can
specify a start date and time, as well as a recurrence of 1 to 59
minutes, 1 to 23 hours, or 1 to 31 days.
Note If today is Wednesday and you set
the inventory schedule to run every 2 weeks on Mondays, the next
inventory collection will occur on the next Monday and alternate
Mondays after that.
