Software update deployment templates in Configuration Manager 2007 store many of the deployment properties that might not change from deployment to deployment. Templates auto populate these settings when used to initiate a deployment. When a deployment template is no longer needed, it can be deleted without causing any impact on the deployments that have previously been created by using the template. Use the following procedure to delete an existing deployment template.

To delete a deployment template

  1. In the Configuration Manager console, navigate to System Center Configuration Manager / Site Database / Computer Management / Software Updates / Deployment Templates.

  2. In the Deployment Templates pane, right-click the desired deployment template, and then click Delete.

  3. Click Yes in the Confirm Object Delete dialog box.
