Boundaries assigned to the site that the Configuration Manager console is attached to, and all of the boundaries assigned to child sites of the current site, are displayed in the Boundaries node of the Configuration Manager console.
Boundaries displayed in the results pane of the Boundaries node in the Configuration Manager console are not sorted by default. However, boundaries can be sorted by clicking the Boundary column header in the results pane of the Configuration Manager console.
When you manually sort boundaries by clicking the Boundary column header, the displayed boundaries are sorted first by the site the boundary is assigned to and then by the type of boundary:
- Active Directory boundaries are sorted
alphabetically based on the Active Directory site name.
- IP address range-based boundaries are sorted
in ascending order based on the first byte of the starting IP
address (first octet of the IP address).
- IP subnet boundaries are sorted in ascending
order based on the first byte of the address (first octet of the IP
subnet).
- IPv6 prefix boundaries are sorted
alphabetically based on prefix string values.
