Use the General tab in the Configuration Manager 2007 ConfigMgr software update point Properties to specify whether to use a proxy server when connecting to the upstream server or Microsoft Update during the synchronization process.
The General tab contains the following elements:
- Use a proxy server when synchronizing
- Specifies whether to use a proxy server when connecting to the upstream server or Microsoft Update to synchronize software updates.
- Server name
- Specifies the name or IP address of the proxy server.
- Port
- Specifies the HTTP port used by the proxy server. By default, HTTP port 80 is selected.
- Use credentials to connect to the proxy server
- Specifies whether to use specific security credentials when connecting to the proxy server.
- Software update point proxy server account
- Specifies the software update point proxy server account used when connecting to the proxy server.
- OK
- Saves the changes, and exits the dialog box.
- Cancel
- Exits the dialog box without saving any changes.
- Apply
- Saves the changes, and remains in the dialog box.
- Help
- Opens the help topic for this tab of the dialog box.
