In addition to performing regular system maintenance for the server computers hosting Configuration Manager 2007 site systems and clients, regular site database maintenance is also important for the Configuration Manager site operations.
Many predefined maintenance tasks are provided in the Configuration Manager console to maintain the site database, but not all are enabled by default. Depending on the site configuration and features enabled or in use, the maintenance tasks and their schedules will vary. Additional maintenance tasks can also be created for custom site database maintenance requirements.
For best Configuration Manager site performance, regular site system and site database maintenance must be performed. For more information about maintaining Configuration Manager 2007 sites, see Configuring Site Maintenance.
