When deleting a resource in Configuration Manager 2007, that resource is removed from both the collections that utilize it and from the Configuration Manager database.
If you want to remove a resource from a specific collection but not from the Configuration Manager database, modify that collection's membership rules. For more information, see About Collection Membership.

| You must have Delete Resource permissions for the Collection security object type to delete a resource. For more information about security permissions, see Classes and Instances for Object Security in Configuration Manager. |
