When client computers in Configuration Manager 2007 download assigned configuration baselines and evaluate their compliance with them, they report their compliance results to their management point. You can view this compliance information by configuration baselines with a choice of procedures:
- View the Desired Configuration
Management home page.
- Run a desired configuration management report
from the reporting point.
To view the compliance with assigned configuration baselines using the Desired Configuration Management home page

In the Configuration Manager console, navigate to System Center Configuration Manager / Site Database / Computer Management / Desired Configuration Management.

The section Desired Configuration Compliance Summary lists all assigned configuration baselines that report an out-of-compliance status. Each displayed configuration baseline has further details displayed in columns, and you can view the graphical representation in the pie chart of the following compliance status: Compliant, Not Compliant, Failed, Unknown.

If required, filter the display of configuration baselines, using the options Minimum Severity and Category.

To view the compliance with assigned configuration baselines by running a report

In the Configuration Manager console, navigate to System Center Configuration Manager / Site Database / Computer Management / Reporting / Reports.

In the Reports node, click the Category column to sort the reports so that you can more easily find the reports relating to desired configuration management.

Right-click the report Summary compliance by configuration baseline, and then click Run.

In Report Information, specify any values if you want to refine the report information displayed, and then click Display. For example, you can do the following:
- If you want to see the compliance results of
all assigned configuration baselines, do not enter any additional
values.
- If you want to see the compliance results of
a particular assigned configuration baseline, enter the name of the
baseline in the Baseline Display Name text box, or click
Values and select the name of the configuration
baseline.
- If you want to see the compliance results of
assigned configuration baselines that share the same category,
enter name of the category in the Category text box, or
click Values and select the category for the configuration
baselines.
- If you want to see the compliance results of
assigned configuration baselines only if they contain configuration
items with a minimum severity level, enter the Minimum
Severity, or click Values and select the severity
level.
- If you want to see the compliance results of
all assigned configuration baselines, do not enter any additional
values.
