If a distribution point in Configuration Manager 2007 supports Internet-based clients, you must configure the distribution point for Internet-based content with the option Allow clients to transfer content from this distribution point using BITS, HTTP, and HTTPS (required for device clients and Internet-based clients). For other scenarios when this option must be configured, see Decide Whether to Enable BITS on a Distribution Point.
Although this option must be configured when you configure the Internet-based distribution point for client connections, use the following procedure to verify its configuration and correct if necessary.
To configure a distribution point for Internet-based content
-
In the Configuration Manager console, navigate to System Center Configuration Manager / Site Database / Site Management / <site code> - <site name> / Site Settings / Site Systems.
-
Expand the site system that is configured for the Internet-based distribution point role, right-click ConfigMgr distribution point, and then select Properties.
-
On the General tab, in the Communication Settings section, select Allow clients to transfer content from this distribution point using BITS, HTTP, and HTTPS (required for device clients and Internet-based clients).
-
Click OK.
Note For more information about the options in this dialog box, see ConfigMgr Distribution Point Properties: General Tab.
