You can configure the location and amount of disk space Configuration Manager 2007 clients will use to store temporary downloaded programs. These settings can be configured when you install the Configuration Manager 2007 client manually, when you use client push installation, or after the client is installed.

Use the following procedures to configure the temporary program download folder during manual client installation, or after the client is installed.

To configure the temporary program download folder during manual client installation:

  • Run the CCMSetup.exe command from the install source location, specifying the following properties as required, and separated by spaces:

    • DISABLECACHEOPT:

    • SMSCACHEDIR:

    • SMSCACHEFLAGS:

    • SMSCACHESIZE:

To configure the temporary program download folder when installing clients using client push installation:

  1. In the Configuration Manager console, navigate to System Center Configuration Manager / Site Database / Site Management / <site code> – <site name> / Site Settings / Client Installation Methods.

  2. Right-click Client Push Installation, and click Properties to open the Client Push Installation Properties dialog box.

  3. On the Client tab, specify the following properties as required, separated by spaces:

To configure the temporary program download folder after the client is installed:

  1. Navigate to Configuration Manager in the Control Panel of the client computer, and then double-click to open its properties.

  2. Click the Advanced tab.

  3. Under Amount of disk space to use: (MB), specify the amount in MB to reserve for downloaded programs.

  4. To change the location of the temporary program download folder, click Change Location, and then specify the new location. The default location is %windir%\system32\CCM\Cache.

  5. To delete all of the files currently stored in the temporary program download folder, click Delete Files.

  6. Click OK.
