To verify that the System Health Validator point in Configuration Manager 2007 is receiving client statements of health, you can use either of the following procedures:
- Verify the existence of a log file on the
System Health Validator point.
- Use the Configuration Manager System
Health Validator performance counters for the System Health
Validator point.
To verify that the System Health Validator point is receiving client statements of health by verifying the existence of a log file on the System Health Validator point
-
Check for a file named %systemdrive%\SMSSHV\SMS_SHV\Logs\SMSSHVquarValidator.log.
If this log file exists, the System Health Validator point has received client statements of health. If this log file has a current date and time, it is a good indication that the System Health Validator point is currently receiving client statements of health.
However, if this log file does not exist or has not been updated recently, the System Health Validator point is not receiving client statements of health.
To verify that the System Health Validator point is receiving client statements of health by using the Configuration Manager System Health Validator performance counters
-
Monitor the performance counters for Configuration Manager System Health Validator: SoH Requests Total and SoH Requests/second.
If these counters are greater than 0, the System Health Validator point is receiving client statements of health.
If these counters are 0, the System Health Validator point is not receiving client statements of health.
