Use the Template Name page in the Configuration Manager 2007 Deploy Software Updates Wizard to save the deployment properties in a template for use in future software update deployments. Templates are used when creating new deployments to ensure consistency among similar deployments and to save time. The properties in the following wizard pages are saved within a template and auto populated when creating a new deployment:

Name Description

Save deployment properties as a template

Specifies whether to save the deployment properties in a template to use in future software update deployments. If enabled, the new template is saved and available for use when creating a new deployment and displayed in the Deployment Templates node of the Configuration Manager console.

Note
You might need to run the Refresh action before new templates are displayed in the Deployment Templates node.

Template Name

Specifies the name of the deployment template. The name must be unique and help to describe the objective of the deployment template.

Template Description

Specifies the description for the deployment template. The description should provide an overview of the deployment template configuration and other relevant information that helps to identify it among others in the Deployment Templates node of the ConfigMgr Administrator console.

Previous

Goes to the previous page of the wizard.

Next

Goes to the next page of the wizard.

Finish

Goes to the Summary page of the wizard.

Cancel

Discards the settings and exits the wizard.
