If you disable the Software Inventory Agent for a site, SMS removes Software Inventory Agent from clients in that site. Software Inventory Processor, however, remains on the site server so that it can process software inventory files from child sites that are still collecting software inventory.
Note Disabling software inventory for a site also disables file collection.
