Use this dialog box to specify a generic account that should be
given access to the package on distribution
points. Generic access accounts are mapped to actual user or
group accounts specific to the network operating systems of
individual distribution points. You can create your own package
access accounts in addition to or in place of generic access
accounts to gain further control over access to package source
files on distribution points.
Users
The generic account is a user account with read-only rights.
The Users account is mapped to the local Users account in
Windows NT and the Everyone (group) account in NetWare
bindery. A generic Users account is created for each package by
default.
Guests
The generic account is a guest account with read-only rights.
The Guests account is mapped to the local Guests account in Windows
NT and the Everyone (group) account in NetWare bindery. A generic
Guests account is created for each package by default.
Administrators
The generic account is an administrator account with full
control rights. The Administrators account is mapped to the local
Admins account in Windows NT and the Supervisor account in NetWare
bindery. A generic Administrators account is created by
default.
Caution Do not
remove the generic Administrators account without specifying one or
more package access accounts that provide the SMS Service
account full control on all necessary distribution points.
Failure to do so will result in the Distribution Manager component
being unable to install, update, or remove the package on
distribution points.
