Add Computer to Collection

The Add Computer to Collection object will add a computer to an existing collection. The Add Computer to Collection object cannot add users or other resources to collections. Configuring the Add Computer to Collection object is similar to adding a computer to a collection using the SMS Administrator Console.

Note: The Opalis Client and Action Server user accounts must have sufficient rights to view programs, collections, and packages as well as create advertisements.

How it is used

The Add Computer to Collection object can be used to add a single computer to an existing collection.

Configuration

To configure the Add Computer to Collection object you will need to know the name of the SMS server and its login credentials of the collection that the computer will be added to, and the name of the collection that you will add the computer to.

Details tab

 

Server	Type the name or IP address of the SMS server of the collection that the computer will be added to. The SMS server cannot be located on the same computer as the Opalis Action Server or Client.
User name	Type the Windows account name that will be used to log into the SMS server. For example, smsadmin@abccompany.com or ABCCompany\SMSAdmin.
Password	Type the password that is associated with the Windows account name specified.
Collection	Type the name of the collection that the computer will be added to, or click the ellipsis button (...) to browse for it.
Computer name	Type the name of the computer that you will add to the collection. You cannot use the query rule to dynamically add computer names; you must type the full name of the computer (direct rule).

SMS server name	The name of the SMS server that stores the collection that the computer will be added to.
Collection id	The id of the collection that the computer is being added to.
Collection name	The name of the collection that the computer is being added to.
Computer name	The name of the computer that is added to the collection.
