Update Alert
The Update Alert object will update the status of a MOM alert. The Update Alert object requires an id of the alert that it is updating. It is recommended that this value be entered using Published Data.
How it is used
You can use the Update Alert object to update an alert based on the results from automated diagnostics performed by a Policy.
Configuration
To configure the Update Alert object you will need to know the MOM server that you are connecting to as well as the ID of the alert that you are updating.

Server
Type the name of the MOM 2005 connection information that you want to use. You can use the ellipsis () button to browse for the connection. For more information about connecting to MOM, see Connecting to MOM 2005.
Alert properties
Type the value for each field listed in the list. To change the fields listed see the instructions below.
Alert ID
Use Published Data to enter the ID of the alert that you will be updating.
To add or remove fields:
1.
Click Select fields. The Select Fields dialog appears.
2.
Select the items from the Available fields list that you want to add to the list of items that will be updated and click >>. The items appear in the Selected fields list.
3.
Select items in the Selected fields list that you do not want to update and click <<. The items are removed from the Selected fields list and re-appear in the Available fields list.
4.
Click OK.

Description
MOM server
The name of the MOM server computer.
Alert ID
The ID of the alert that was updated. This can be used in another Update MOM Alert object.
Computer name
The name of the computer that raised the alert.
CustomField1
The value of the 1st custom field.
CustomField2
The value of the 2nd custom field.
CustomField3
The value of the 3rd custom field.
CustomField4
The value of the 4th custom field.
CustomField5
The value of the 5th custom field.
Previous CustomField1
The value of the 1st custom field before the Update MOM Alert object executed.
Previous CustomField2
The value of the 2nd custom field before the Update MOM Alert object executed.
Previous CustomField3
The value of the 3rd custom field before the Update MOM Alert object executed.
Previous CustomField4
The value of the 4th custom field before the Update MOM Alert object executed.
Previous CustomField5
The value of the 5th custom field before the Update MOM Alert object executed.
Alert description
The description of the MOM alert.
Alert name
The name of the MOM alert.
Alert owner
The account name that owns the alert.
Source
The name of the Windows service that was the source of the alert.
Time of last state change
The last time that the state of the alert changed in UTC format.
Modified by
The last user to change the alert’s state. If the alert was automatically resolved without user intervention, the value will be AutoResolved.
Repeat count
For consolidated events, the number of repeat occurrences.
Resolution state
The current resolution state number of the alert.
Resolved by
The name of the user that resolved the alert.
Previous resolution state
The value of the resolution state before the Update MOM Alert object executed.
Severity
The severity level of the alert.
Time of last state or properties change
The time the alert’s state or properties last changed in UTC format.
Time of first event
For consolidated events, the time the first event was raised in UTC format.
Time of last event
For consolidated events, the time the last event was raised in UTC format.
Time raised
The time at which the alert was raised in UTC format.
Time resolved
The time at which the alert was resolved in UTC format.
