Set Policy Template

The Set Policy Template object will enable or disable a policy template on the OpenView Operations server. For more information on policy templates, see the HP OpenView Operations documentation.

Note: Disabling some policy templates can cause the OpenView Operations server to stop receiving messages. Be cautious when disabling any policy templates on the OpenView Operations server.

How it is used

You can use the Set Policy Template object to shut down a policy template that will cause the OpenView Operations server to ignore a collection of messages.

Configuration

To configure the Set Policy Template object you will need to know the managed node that you are connecting to and the name of the policy templates that you are enabling or disabling.

Details tab

 

Computer	Type the name of the node that you where you are enabling or disabling the policy template.
Enable	Select to enable the policy templates specified.
Disable	Select to disable the policy templates specified.
All	Select to enable or disable all policies on the specified node.
Specific	Select to specify which policy templates you want to enable or disable. To edit or remove a policy template, select the item and click Edit or Remove respectively. To add a policy template, see the instructions below.

To add a policy template:

1.	Click Add. The Add Policy dialog appears.

2.	In the Name field, type the name of the policy template that you are selecting and click OK. The policy template appears in the list.

Name	Description
Node	The name of the node where the policy templates were enabled or disabled.
Specified OVO Policy	The name of the policy template that was enabled or disabled.
