Get Event
The Get Event object retrieves events from the Tivoli Enterprise Console server.
How it is used
Use the Get Event object to retrieve events from the Tivoli Enterprise Console server and work with them in your Opalis Integration Server Policies.
Configuration
To configure the Get Event object you need to know which filters you plan to use and verify that they have already been configured.

Server
Click the ellipsis button (...) and select a Tivoli Enterprise Console server from the list.
Filters
The list shows all the Tivoli Enterprise Console event filters that you have configured. To edit or remove a filter, select the item and click Edit or Remove respectively. To add a filter, see the instructions below.
To add a filter:
1.
Click Add. The Add Filter dialog appears.
2.
From the Field drop-down list, select the field that you want to search in. Only standard Tivoli Enterprise Console fields are selectable. If you want to filter based on custom fields, type the name of the field exactly as it appears in the Tivoli Enterprise Console client.

From the Relation drop-down list, select the type of relation that you want to use in your search.
4.
In the Value field, type or select the value that will be compared to the item that you selected from the Field drop-down list and click OK. The filter is added to the list.
Advanced tab
For each event retrieved, the Get Event object will automatically publish all the standard Tivoli Enterprise Console fields as Published Data. You will need to create new slots for any custom fields that you want to include in the Published Data.
The Custom Published Data list displays all the custom fields that have been assigned to Published Data codes. To edit or remove a field, select the item and click Edit or Remove respectively.
To add a custom Published Data fields:
1.
Click Add. The Add Custom Published Data dialog appears.

The Published Data code field populates the code automatically. Each item is assigned a name in numerical order as they are added: CustomSlot-1, CustomSlot-2, and so on.
3.
In the Slot name field, type the name of the custom Published Data item and click OK. The new item appears in the list.

Event count
The number of events that were detected by the Get Event object.
Class
The class of the event.
Severity
The severity of the event.
Status
The status of the event.
Message
The event description.
Last modification time
The last time that the event was modified.
Source
The location where the event was created.
Server handle
The ID of the server where the event is located. This value, combined with the Event handle and Reception ID, uniquely identifies a Tivoli Enterprise Console event.
Reception date
The date that the event was received.
Reception ID
The reception ID of the event. This value, combined with the Server handle and Event handle, uniquely identifies a Tivoli Enterprise Console event.
Event handle
The handle of the event. This value, combined with the Server handle and Reception ID, uniquely identifies a Tivoli Enterprise Console event.
Sub-source
Additional information about the source of the event.
Origin
The IP address where the event occurred.
Sub-origin
Additional details about the origin of the event.
Hostname
The name of the computer where the event occurred.
Adapter host
The hostname of the adapter where the event occurred.
Event date
The date that the event was created.
Administrator
The administrator that updated the event.
ACL
The list of user roles that are allowed to modify the event.
Credibility
The method that was used to send the event.
Message catalog
The message catalog of the event.
Message index
The message index of the event.
Duration
The amount of time that the event was open before it was closed.
Number of actions
The number of tracked actions that were taken on this event.
Repeat count
The number of duplicates of this event.
Causing event date reception
The date that the event that caused this event was received.
Causing event handle
The handle of the causing event.
CustomSlot-X
Replace X with the number that corresponds to the custom field that you added on the Advanced tab.
