Summary – Inventory and assessment

The Summary Review page verifies that all selected scenarios have the credentials listed for the appropriate collector technologies. This page also verifies that at least one discovery method was chosen: to let the Inventory and Assessment Wizard locate the computers, manually enter computer names, or import computer names from a file.

Any verifications that fail are listed as errors at the top of the review pane under the Errors node. You must resolve any errors before you can run the inventory. If credentials were not specified for any of the selected technologies that information is displayed under the Warning node.

When there are no errors shown, review your settings under the Summary node. After you review your settings and are ready to begin, click the Finish button in the wizard. A Status page will display and the inventory and assessment process will start automatically.

If the inventory process is canceled or stops for any reason before it has a chance to finish, your database will be in a “dirty” state.  To allow MAP to parse the data collected and “clean” the database, go to Tools and select Refresh Inventory Assessment. If you don’t refresh the database, you may experience software errors and incorrect results.
