Stopping and restarting the extension

The ESI Installer may prompt you to close or stop the ESI Exchange HA Extension during an upgrade or installation.

If you add an Exchange mailbox server to the Exchange Organization Management Security Group after installing the ESI Exchange HA Extension, you must stop and restart the extension to apply the change.

Note: If the extension is not restarted after adding a server to the security group, switchover and failover operations may fail.

To stop the extension:

1. Open a Windows command prompt.

2. Type the following command to stop the extension:

   net stop EsiExchangeMonitorService

To restart the extension:

1. Open a Windows command prompt.

2. Type the following command to restart the extension:

   net start EsiExchangeMonitorService
