If the time-out values are not appropriate (for example, if servicing jobs frequently cannot complete operations within the time allowed) you can modify them. To modify the time-out values, you must run the Configuration wizard again.
To reconfigure the servicing job time-out values
Note The number of maintenance hosts and their capacity determines how many virtual machines, virtual machine templates, or VHDs the servicing job can process at one time. When processing large numbers of these, the servicing job creates "batches" of them that can be processed simultaneously, and then it works through one batch at a time. The time-outs apply to each batch, rather than to the entire job. In this way, if some of the virtual machines in a batch finish the operation before the time-out passes, those virtual machines are not affected by the time-out.
