System Center Updates Publisher can retrieve a list of all vendor catalogs that have been registered with Microsoft. The catalogs can be added to the import list and then imported individually from the Updates Publisher start page or by using the Import Software Updates Catalog Wizard.
Use the following procedure to discover vendor catalogs and import the catalogs into Updates Publisher.
To discover and import vendor catalogs

Right-click any console tree node in the Updates Publisher console, and then click Settings to open the Settings dialog box.

On the Import List tab, click Find to open the Add Vendor Catalog dialog box. Updates Publisher retrieves a list of vendor software updates catalogs that have been registered with Microsoft and not already imported to Updates Publisher. This list is retrieved from an external Web site and therefore requires an Internet connection.

Select a catalog, and then click Add to add one catalog to the Chosen catalog(s) pane, or click Add All to add all the catalogs to the Chosen catalog(s) pane.

Click OK, and then click OK to add the catalogs displayed in the Chosen catalog(s) pane to the import list.

Use one of the following methods to import the discovered catalogs:
Import from the Updates Publisher Start Page
This option allows individual catalogs to be imported. The Automatically check for updates to my catalogs on startup setting must be enabled to use this option. For more information, see How to Automatically Check for Updated Catalogs.
- On the Updates Publisher start page, click Refresh in
the Catalog Updates pane. Updates Publisher automatically checks
for newer versions of the software updates catalogs that have been
added to the import list and displays the results in the Catalog
Updates pane.
- Select one or more catalogs, and then click Import to
open the Import Software Updates Catalog Wizard. A summary of the
catalogs that will be imported are displayed. Click Next,
and then click Close.
Import from the Import Software Updates Catalog Wizard
This option imports all catalogs in the import list.
- In the Updates Publisher console, navigate to any console tree
node item.
- Right-click the console tree node item, and then click
Import Update(s) to start the Import Software Updates
Catalog Wizard.
- Select Bulk Catalog Import, and then click
Next.
- Click Next to import all the catalogs in the import
list, and then click Close to exit the wizard.
- On the Updates Publisher start page, click Refresh in
the Catalog Updates pane. Updates Publisher automatically checks
for newer versions of the software updates catalogs that have been
added to the import list and displays the results in the Catalog
Updates pane.
