Removing a distribution point is sometimes necessary when maintaining a Configuration Manager 2007 site. It is important to note that removing a distribution point will also delete that distribution point from all packages.

To remove a distribution point

  1. Remove all distribution package folders and the SMSPKGSIG signature folder from the distribution point computer.

You must manually remove these components before removing the distribution point role.
  2. In the Configuration Manager console, navigate to System Center Configuration Manager / Site Database / Site Management / <site name> / Site Settings / Site Systems.

  3. Click the specific distribution point to be removed.

  4. Right-click the ConfigMgr distribution point role in the results pane, and then click Delete.

  5. Click Yes in the Confirm Delete dialog box.
