Use the Create Report Wizard in Configuration Manager 2007 R2 SQL Reporting Services to create a new model-based report. Model-based reporting allows you to interactively choose the items you want to include in your report.
To create a new model-based report
In the Configuration Manager console, navigate to System Center Configuration Manager / Site Database / Computer Management / Reporting / Reporting Services.
Right-click the report server name, and select Create Report.
Note If you right-click a report folder and click Create Report, the report will be created in that report folder.
On the Information page of the Create Report Wizard, select Model-based report and then click Next.
On the Model Selection page of the Create Report Wizard, select the report model you want to use from the Model drop-down list. You can browse the views and objects exposed by this model in the Preview window. Click Next to continue.
On the Summary page of the Create Report Wizard, review information about the report that will be created and then click Next.
After the Progress page of the Create Report Wizard is displayed, review the Wizard Completed page and then click Close to exit the wizard and open Microsoft Report Builder.
In Microsoft Report Builder, drag and drop items from the available views into the report builder window. For more information about the options in Microsoft Report Builder, see About Using Microsoft Report Builder to Create Reports in SQL Reporting Services.
When you have finished creating the report in Microsoft Report Builder, click File and then click Save.
In the Save As Report dialog box, select a folder in which to store the report and specify a descriptive name for the report. Click Save to save the report.
Close Microsoft Report Builder.
Note You might need to refresh the display in the Configuration Manager console before the new report is visible.
