About Relational Operators

A relational operator is a query condition (such as "is equal to" or "is like") that defines how the value of the expression is compared with the specified attribute.

The types of relational operators available depend on the data type of the attribute. The data types are numerical, string, and date/time.

Relational operators are typically used when configuring a Criterion type to compare one query attribute with another. When adding a relational operator to a query in design view, SMS will prompt you with a drop-down list including all relational operators that are valid for the query expression.

For more information about relational operators, including example query syntax that uses relational operators, see the Microsoft SMS 2.0 Toolkit.
