Summarization Rule Properties Dialog Box: General Tab

Use this tab to add, modify, or delete summarization rules for the Software Metering component.

Data type

Specify the type of data to summarize.

Licensed product use: Data for products that have been registered for use on clients. By default, this option is selected.
Unlicensed program use: Data for programs that have not been registered for use on clients.

Data summarization

Specify the age of the data to summarize and the granularity at which to store that data.

Age: The age of the data to summarize. The default is 1 week. The valid selections are 10 minutes, 1 hour, 1 day, 1 week, and 1 year.
Granularity: The level of detail with which to summarize the data. The default is 1 day. The valid selections are 10 minutes, 1 hour, 1 day, 1 week, and 1 year.; Note The granularity you select must be less than, or equal to, the age. For example, if you select an age of 1 day, you can set the granularity to 10 minutes, 1 hour, or 1 day. If you set the granularity to 1 day, SMS will generate a single record for each product use for each day. If you set the granularity to 1 hour, SMS will generate 24 records each day.
