Use the following procedure to move a host cluster to a different host group. Host clusters must be moved as a unit; you cannot move individual hosts out of a cluster. A VMware host cluster cannot be moved out of its parent host group.
|If the cluster is used for virtual machine self-service, moving the cluster can cause service disruption for self-service users. To avoid service disruptions, review the self-service user roles for the host group containing the cluster and notify the users in advance.|
In Hosts view, in the navigation pane, select the host cluster.
To move the host cluster to a different host group, do one of the following:
- In the navigation pane, drag the cluster to
the host group that you want to add it to.
- In the Actions pane, under Host
Cluster, click Move.
- In the navigation pane, drag the cluster to the host group that you want to add it to.
At the confirmation prompt, click Yes to move the host cluster.
Moving the host cluster may take several minutes. You can monitor the status of the job in Jobs view.
