Three data sources are supported in the SCRM architecture:
- SMS operational database
- MOM operational database (OnePoint)
- Imported business context data
SCRM 2006 does not support the co-location of MOM and SMS data sources on the same server. Each MOM 2005 and SMS 2003 data source must have a dedicated SQL Server instance.
In addition, only one SMS site server database per SQL Server system can be configured as a SCRM data source. If multiple SMS data sources are co-located on the same SQL Server system, only the first configured data source is sourced for data. In this scenario, you should take your SMS data sources into account so that only one SMS site database exists per SQL Server system.
SCRM 2006, like SMS, does not support SQL Server clustering. However, MOM does support SQL Server clustering. Regardless of MOM operational database clustering, you must install SCRM 2006 on its own dedicated server.
The following table describes supported co-existence scenarios for SCRM components. Abbreviations used in the table are as follows:
- SCRM DW: System Center Reporting Manager Data Warehouse
- SCRM RC: System Center Reporting Manager Reports
- SCRM AC: System Center Reporting Manager Administrator
console
- MOM RC: MOM 2005 Reporting Console
- MOM DW: MOM 2005 Data Warehouse

Although reports for MOM 2005 and SCRM 2006 can be installed on the same SQL Server Reporting Services 2005 server, doing so is not recommended. For better performance, install reports on separate SQL Server Reporting Services 2005 servers. |
For information about importing business context data sources, see the Loading Business Context Data Whitepaper (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=62109).
SQL Server Reporting Services Virtual Directory Names
If you have SQL Server Reporting Services 2005 and SQL Server Reporting Services 2000 installed on the same computer, you must provide the virtual directory names for SQL Server Reporting Services 2005, not SQL Server Reporting Services 2000 during SCRM 2006 installation. If only SQL Server Reporting Services 2005 is installed, the default virtual directory names for Report Server and Report Manager are Reportserver and Reports, respectively. However, if there is a named instance of SQL Server 2005, the virtual directory names are Reportserver$<NamedInstanceofSQLServer2005> and Reports$<NamedInstanceofSQLServer2005>. For example, if the named instance of SQL Server 2005 is Computer1, the virtual directory names are ReportServer$Computer1 and Reports$Computer1.
