Use the following procedure to create a TCP Port object type with the Add Monitoring Wizard. For information about Management Pack templates and the Add Monitoring Wizard, see Шаблоны пакета управления и мастер добавления объекта мониторинга.

To start monitoring a TCP Port with Essentials 2007

  1. Start the Add Monitoring Wizard.

    For information about starting the Add Monitoring Wizard, see How to Start the Add Monitoring Wizard in System Center Essentials.
  2. On the Select Monitoring Type page, select TCP Port, and then click Next.

  3. On the General Properties page, do the following:

    1. Type the Name for the object, such as Org WWW Site HTTP port 80.

    2. Optionally, type the Description for the object.

    3. Select a Management pack from the list, such as Default Management Pack, or click New to create a Management Pack with the Create a Management Pack Wizard.

      The object type will be added to the specified Management Pack; therefore, only unsealed Management Packs are listed.
    4. Click Next.

  4. On the Enter and Test Port Settings page, do the following:

    1. Type the IP address or device name, such as or ManagementServer1.

    2. Type the Port, such as 5723.

    3. Optionally, click Test.

    4. Click Next.

  5. On the Choose Watcher Node page, do the following:

    1. Select one or more agent-managed computers to monitor the specified TCP Port.

    2. Set Run this query every to the desired time; the minimum is 30 seconds.

    3. Click Next.

  6. On the Summary page, review the settings, and then click Create.
