You use the Microsoft Office SharePoint Services 2007 (MOSS) Model Wizard to enter summary information about your SharePoint deployment. You can later refine the information using the Model Editor.

You use the Model Wizard pages to specify the following information:

The SharePoint Capacity Planning Tool is designed to model fairly simple SharePoint deployments that consist of one SharePoint server farm that runs a single Web application. For information about applying the tool to more complex deployments, see Special Case: How to Model Regional MOSS Farms.

After you specify the above parameters in the Model Wizard, the wizard displays a summary and then generates a capacity model based on your input. You can then run simulations against the model or change it with the Model Editor.
