To add capacity to your capacity model, you can use the Capacity Planner Model Editor to reallocate resources from an over-utilized device, computer, or site to a device, computer, or site that has under-utlilized resources.
To move the component storage configuration from one device to another

Navigate to the Site Topology view in Model Editor.

Click the server that you want to reduce the load on, and then click Edit server role.

Click the component that has an over-utilized storage device, and then clear the Storage configuration option for the overloaded storage device.

Click the Storage configuration option for the under-utilized storage device.
To reduce the load on the device by redirecting load to other servers

Navigate to the Site Topology view in Model Editor.

Click the server that you want to reduce the load on, and then click Edit server role.

Remove one or more components from the overloaded server by clicking them.

Click the server that you want to move the component to, and then click Edit Server role.

Add one or more components by clicking them that you removed from the overloaded server.

Ensure you specify the disk volumes or SANs in the server's Storage configuration used by data and log files.
To increase capacity by moving a server from one site to another

In Model Editor, navigate to the Site Topology view of the site to remove a server from.

Click the server that you want to reduce the load on, and then click Delete server.

Navigate to the Site Topology view of the site to move the server to.

Click Add a server.

In the Add a server action dialog, re-create the server you deleted in step 2.

Click Edit server role.

Add the necessary components by clicking them and configure them appropriately.

Connect the server to the LAN or WAN and if necessary, to a SAN switch.
