Use the Networks page of the Exchange Model Wizard to specify physical and logical connectivity between sites. Capacity Planner connects all Mailbox sites together and by default, chooses an even distribution of physical and logical connections between client-only sites and Mailbox sites.

Note
When you navigate to other pages in the Model Wizard you should do so using Back and Next buttons. Otherwise, results on the Model Summary page might not update.

The following elements appear on the Networks page of the Exchange Model Wizard.

Specify the typical connectivity between Mailbox Sites


Used to choose the type of connectivity between Mailbox sites.Site to Site: When selected, indicates that Mailbox sites are connected to each other by a dedicated network connection.Shared WAN: When selected, indicates that Mailbox sites are connected to each other by a WAN connection, shared with other resources in the organization.Bandwidth: Lists possible network speeds. Bandwidth % available: Indicates the amount of bandwidth that is typically free for network resources to use. Capacity Planner calculates utilization between sites based upon available network bandwidth.
Specify the typical connectivity between Client-Only Sites and Mailbox Sites


Used to choose the type of connectivity from client-only sites to Mailbox sites.Site to Site: When selected, indicates that client-only sites are connected to Mailbox sites by a dedicated network connection.Shared WAN: When selected, indicates that client-only sites are connected to Mailbox sites by a WAN connection, shared with other resources in the organization.Bandwidth: Lists possible network speeds. Bandwidth % available: Indicates the amount of bandwidth that is typically free for network resources to use. Capacity Planner calculates utilization between sites based upon available network bandwidth.
Specify Connectivity for Each Client-Only Site


When available, opens the Customize Client-Only Site Connectivity action dialog. In this action dialog, you can specify unique connection details for each client-only site.
