When a request for a hardware asset or software title is received from the portal, a service request work item is created. Here is what you need to do with the request:
Approve it. Who performs the approval is up to you. The approval list can be set to leverage Service Manager functions, such as AD connector line manager information.
In the case of a hardware asset, search your inventory for a suitable asset or generate a new hardware asset.
In the case of a software asset, search for a suitable software title, reassign an existing one or generate a new software title. Assignment of the software title to the users specified on the request is performed automatically by the management pack.
