Synchronize Agent Communication Settings

When the communication port number is changed, or mutual authentication is turned on or off , the communication channel between the MOM Management Server and its agents no longer works.

In order to restore communications using new settings, communication settings on all of the Management Servers and agents in a management group must be synchronized.

To synchronize agent communication settings

  1. In the Navigation pane, click Microsoft Operations Manager.
  2. In the Detail pane, click Manage Computers, click Agent-managed Computers, and select all agent-managed computers.
  3. Right-click and click All Tasks.
  4. Click Update Agent Settingsto modify the agent communication settings, or change the agent action account.
  5. Click OKto run the task.

    Unless you configured custom accounts, accept the default settings for Account to use for updating agent settingsand Agent provider and response account.
